Patrick Mahomes' contract in the 2020 offseason was historic, and changed the QB market forever. Ever since then, QBs have been demanding more and more money. Daniel Jones' $40M per year contract was the writing on the wall that QBs were about to suddenly become a lot more expensive, and Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson's record-breaking contracts only reaffirmed this. This trend may soon cross over into other positions as well, but for now it will continue to affect the QB market more than anyone else.
